The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (1949)

Originally released on october 5 1949 as part of The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad package film, the short  based
on Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, is one of Disney most beloved pieces of animation. Produced at the same time of Cinderella (1950) the story of Ichabod shares with that classic the same character design style and dark setting.

The two stories of The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (both based upon popular works of literature) were also re-edited
and re-released separately through the years, first in cinemas then on tv, videotape and dvd.

Disney’s Ichabod features the narrating and singing voice of  Bing Crosby, the popular singer and actor whose career stretched over more than half a century from 1926 until his death in 1977.

The original  "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" is a short story by American author Washington Irving published in 1820 and written while he was living in England.

October 2009 marks the 60th anniversary of Disney’s Sleepy Hollow short that we think it’s perfect to watch with family and friends this coming Halloween night!
