According to The Hollywood Reporter Robert Zemeckis’s ImageMovers and Disney Pictures are in negotiations to buy the rights of "The Stoneheart" book trilogy, a series of fantasy adventures created by Charlie Fletcher, to adapt into a performance-capture movie.
Stoneheart tells the story of George, a 12-year-old London boy, who enters an alternate world by breaking off a dragon’s head carved onto the wall of the National History Museum. He later learns from Gunner, a walking and talking statue, that he has entered another layer of reality and that his arrival has started a war between good spits (the statues that are imbued with the soullike essence of their makers) and evil taints (carvings with no soul).
