Weeks after the Walt Disney Company said it would no longer be a producer of the “Chronicles of Narnia” fantasy adventure movies, Aslan the lion has come roaring back with 20th Century Fox, Variety reported.
Walden Media, which produced the first two films, “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” and “Prince Caspian,” with Disney, will now team with Fox to produce the third, “Voyage of the Dawn Treader.” Disney said in December that it would not be a partner, for budgetary and logistical reasons. The first “Narnia” movie drew $745 million in gross revenues worldwide: its sequel took in $419 million. “Voyage of the Dawn Treader” is scheduled for a holiday 2010 release.
